Our History of Construction &
Insulation Solutions

Grey Bruce Coatings & Insulation Ltd. was founded in the fall of 1973 by Gord Harris in Bognor, Ontario. Serving the counties of Grey, Bruce and Simcoe, the company specialized in both interior and exterior structural and decorative waterproof coatings. This was a very weather-dependent type of business therefore another product line was introduced.

Urea formaldehyde foam insulation was chosen to fill the void created by the energy crisis of the mid and late 1970s. This insulation was strictly cavity fill insulation. To round out the insulation products, Gord added blown cellulose fibre, fibreglass batts and rigid foam board to the company’s product line.

In the early 1980s, polyurethane spray foam insulation was introduced. This type of insulation was used mainly in the commercial and agricultural markets. Spray foam is most currently used in both new homes and renovation projects for basements, crawl spaces, walls and ceilings. It is the most energy efficient product you can use to insulate your home or business.
